Hello, I'm Esra Keleş. I am a Textile Engineer. I work as System and Planning Manager and EDS Project Manager at Kaynak Tekstil.
Could you give brief information about Kaynak Tekstil?
Kaynak Tekstil was established in 1996. We deliver the final products to our customers through cutting, sewing, ironing and packaging activities. Our company employs about 400 people.
How many years have you been using EDS? Why did you choose EDS?
Kaynak Tekstil has been using EDS for 6 years. We are a busy business in terms of customers and orders. Carrying out these activities makes a complex organization inevitable. EDS is an ERP program that provides the definition of these complex organizations to the units and the regularity in the workflow very well. EDS has become the system that will meet our needs in customer diversity, model diversity and order diversity.
How many people use EDS in the business?
There are 36 active users. It goes up to 2-3 users in some units, with 1 user in each unit at least. EDS has become indispensable for us. It has become such a habit that we cannot answer the question 'How do we run things without EDS?'. Because it has a structure that accelerates the flow of information in many business stages and makes our work much easier.
What kinds of changes do you have in business processes with EDS?
Compared to companies working manually and using Excel, EDS offers you a great service as documents, data analysis, reports, retrospective comparisons, communication between units. It makes your workload easy and increases your productivity and performance. It also allows you to evaluate these processes. EDS has brought the evaluation capability to Kaynak Tekstil. In addition, ease of use is an another unique feature of EDS. These are great advantages for us. In the companies I worked for before, it was necessary to scan the all archives and drown in documents in order to reach the details of a past order. But with EDS, we can access both product features and product images with one click. This gives you practicality.
What are your favorite features in EDS?
Since I am a project manager, I can say user monitoring at first. It is very easy to keep follow-up of business processes such as what stage the users are at and when they log into the system. It is also learnable in an easy way that everyone can understand. It offers an easy and enjoyable working method as in a social media channel. This is a very important issue. The person you need to enter a data may sometimes not even know how to use a computer. At this point, it is still not difficult for him to explain EDS. It is included in the system in a short time, which is also a source of motivation for the employee. Again, I can say that any unit can see the job entered by other units at the same time and can adjust the job management. Finally, data analysis can be done very easily and reporting is easy. It is also necessary to say something more in the reporting part. In EDS, the program does not report in a single format. The most important features of EDS are the ability to report according to your use or the companies to which you will present the report, by complying with your business processes, and to enter the properties. EDS has a flexible structure to adapt to your company.
