TURKEY CAN EXPORT UP TO 300 BILLION DOLLARS

While the agenda in our country was changing with the economic threat of US President Donald Trump, Enfotek General Manager Tuğrul Tamtürk talked about the projects that will open the way for Turkey in economic terms. Tamtürk, who did not paint a bleak picture, said: "Turkey can export 300 billion dollars in 3 years."

“This figure may not be taken seriously by some people. Because the previous year, our export volume was around 119 billion dollars, but when we look at the previous years, it is seen that we exceeded 167 billion dollars. What we say is that this value can double if the right 'technological transformations' are provided. It's actually a pretty realistic goal. Because Turkey has this knowledge, technology and experience," said Tamtürk, and continued: "First of all, let's determine why the export volume contracted in 2018. The industry has missed digital transformation. The digital transformation works that should have been provided since 2009 were done incompletely. Maybe the 2% part made this transformation. However, we missed the required efficiency, quality, standardization. While the industry was going to increase its volume by gaining customer confidence, it became a model based on raw investment and capacity increase. Since there is no digital transformation, we also missed controllability.”

10 MILLION EMPLOYMENTS WITH DIGITAL CLUSTERING SYSTEM

"However, when we turned our eyes to our own company, Enfotek, a significant portion of our customers achieved this transformation," said Tamtürk, and added, "With the successive transition to Industry 2.0 and 3.0 standards, growth rates of up to 100 percent and 200 percent have been achieved. Therefore, we say: We have the necessary information. The important thing is the right project and the right investment. Correct business models should be established, and Professional Chambers and Industrialists' Unions should cooperate around these models. A thousand cluster enterprises can be established and each cluster can be targeted to export 300 million dollars. There will be 100 businesses in each cluster. An average of 100 people will work per enterprise. Therefore, about 10 million employees can be employed, a total of 300 billion USD can be exported to a thousand clusters, with each cluster exporting 300 million USD.”

TOTAL INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMATION IS REQUIRED

Tamtürk, “On what basis do we say this; Our country has the necessary information resources for industrial transformation. The only thing we lack is how we will use our resources as a country'' and continued as follows: ''Our most important resource is people. The most inactive resource is in human resources. As Enfotek, we have internalized and implemented Industry 2.0 and 3.0, and our processes have become manageable both internally and externally. We can efficiently manage a greater number of people and resources. We have seen this in our own work. Our companies, which export 15 million dollars, have reached up to 150 million dollars export. They say this themselves. Can every business grow 10x? No. But if Turkey has reached the export figures of 167 billion, it is possible to achieve these figures with the digitalization of the supply chain and the correct application of Industry 3.0. This requires total industrial transformation.

ENGINEER CHAMBERS MUST BE MORE ACTIVE

Engineers' chambers and universities will be the think tank. A common transformation plan should be acted upon. Industry associations can support these plans by investing in applications in the field. Universities will train new students and youth for employment for new business models. Sector and region-based export targets will be determined. It will provide the necessary training to the working engineers. This transformation is mainly in the textile, furniture, automotive, machinery, defense, electrical electronics, software and mining industries. While increasing the efficiency of existing sectors, high-tech new sectors can grow exponentially. No great sacrifice should be expected from the state here. It is sufficient for the state to take measures to ensure that the economic structuring is correct and to ensure that the conditions remain stable in a way that does not disrupt the industrial transformation process. Nor should an extra tax burden or incentive be sought. After the industrial entrepreneur becomes productive, he can grow with his own resources. The government should create a macro target and act with business models that clarify this target how each industrialist invests and what they will get. The state can contribute to the growth of companies by providing an environment of trust in an economically transparent manner. If the entrepreneur makes a profit, the inputs of the state will also increase thanks to digitalization and transparency.”
