TAMTÜRK EXPLAINS DIGITIZATION IN SMEs

Tuğrul Tamtürk, Chairman of the Board at Enfotek Inc., participated as a speaker at the Ege Region SMEs Meet panel, organized by the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of the Aegean (KOBIDER) and supported by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) and the Development Agency. Held at the Ahmet Adnan Saygun Art Center on February 28-29, 2024, Tamtürk delivered a presentation under the title "Resource Management in Businesses (ERP)", addressing the digital transformation journey, vision, and strategy for SMEs.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION EXPLORED

The panel, titled "What’s Possible with Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence?", began at 15:00 on the first day of the event. It was moderated by Sezin Sivri, a family company and management consultant, mentor, coach, trainer, and member of EGEKOBIDER. Speakers included İlhan Özgür, a board member of the İzmir Informatics and Technology Association, discussing Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence; Savaş Bingöl, EBSO Assembly Member, on Resilient SMEs in Digital Transformation; and Hasan Kemahlı, focusing on Production Tracking Systems.

MORE THAN JUST SOFTWARE!

In his presentation titled "Resource Management in Businesses (ERP)", Tuğrul Tamtürk, Chairman of the Board at Enfotek Inc., began by stating, "ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning. But it's more than just planning. It involves integrating Accounting, Human Resources, and Production into a comprehensive monitoring system, including Supply Chain, thus broadening the ERP definition."

THE HUMAN FACTOR IS CRUCIAL

"When we talk at the SME level, it's difficult to carry out Corporate Resource Planning just by looking for software. If we reduce the topic to software alone, we are merely discussing a tool. It's like talking about a car's engine or tires. We cannot overlook the quality human factor. When speaking with SMEs, we often encounter questions like 'Which software is better, A or B?'. However, globally, we see that successful ERP implementations stand at 25%, with rates in our country dropping to as low as 2%. There's resistance in companies, yet ERP is indispensable. We need a top-down perspective on corporate ERP."

In the second part of the panel, Tamtürk gave a presentation, touching on topics such as Global Average ERP Success and ERP Success in Turkey, Lean Digital Transformation, Industry 4.0, and Roadmaps.

At the event attended by numerous companies from the Aegean region, which also featured exhibition stands; panels were held on topics such as Access to Finance, Designing and Shaping a Sustainable Business and Future, What's Possible with Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence?, Talent Acquisition and Employment, and Agricultural SMEs.
