EDS HAS COME A LONG WAY

Nur Uzunoğlu, MD Tekstil EDS Project Manager, answered Enfotek's questions. Uzunoğlu said: “I have been using EDS since 2003. I started with EDS 3. We are currently using EDS 7. EDS has come a long way over the past time.” Here is my interview with Uzunoğlu:

Hello, can we get to know you first?

Hello, I'm Nur Uzunoglu. I graduated from Süleyman Demirel University, Department of Textile Engineering. Then I started to work at the Ali Osman Sönmez Factory in Bursa. Then I continued my business life in Izmir. Currently, I am working as the EDS Project Leader at MD Tekstil.

Can we get information about MD Tekstil?

MD Tekstil is a company established in 1989 in Izmir. Although its products are mostly for women, it is a company that exports at the %100. We send our products to about 32 countries, including Europe, America and South America. It is a company that produces approximately 300 thousand products per month. It is a company with approximately 75 employees. Most of its employees have been working at MD Tekstil for many years. This makes MD Tekstil a family-like company. I can also say that the sincerity and conversation within the company is very good.

What is the reason why MD Tekstil prefers EDS? How did the process work?

MD Tekstil received EDS 4 months ago. Then I started to work as EDS Project Manager. I have been using EDS since 2003. I started with EDS 3. We are currently using EDS 7. EDS has contributed a lot to itself in the past time. Currently, 15 people are actively using EDS in our company.

What are the general thoughts of EDS users about the system?

Actually, a 30-year-old habit has changed with EDS. This is a situation that seems difficult at first glance. It has not been easy to digitize processes that have been operating with Excel for 30 years. EDS is a system that asks you for details and does it practically. Detail is important in garment. What did I buy, how many did I buy, what is my waste, what happened... There are 10-15 accessories on a product, there are fabrics... When you see the actual cost at the end of the day, you get the reward of all your efforts. You see the invoices and the inputs and outputs match. And that makes you happy. In addition, everyone is in a position to monitor and follow each other's work through EDS. This allows things to progress in a certain order.

What is the biggest advantage of EDS to a company?

I think the biggest advantage it provides is seeing the big picture. To see where you won, where you lost, what you missed, what you did well.

What is your favorite feature in EDS?

Actual cost analysis. Since it shows you how to work more efficiently.

What would you say about Enfotek's consultancy services?

Since I knew Enfotek executives before, I started my job here positively. If I can't reach one installer for a minor problem we have in the system, I reach the other. We don't have to wait for results. When I say Enfotek, positive thoughts occur in my mind. Our expectations from Enfotek are; we are currently at the beginner level modules stage. After that, we expect Enfotek to guide us. Quality control, sample, order planning. We expect support from the transition stage to such stages.

Would you recommend EDS to other textile companies?

I did not use any ERP software other than EDS. Based on my EDS experience, I recommend EDS for its functionality, sectorial speciality and details. Since it is a program that stretches according to the way each customer works, I recommend it to other companies.
